Optomap Retinal Exam

The Optomap allows our doctors to look at the retina in detail to rule out any signs of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy or hypertensive retinopathy. It is also an excellent way to view the periphery of the retina and screen for any signs of retinal detachment, retinal holes or tumors.

Obtaining the digital image is quick and comfortable and is captured in less than a second. Nothing touches your eye during the process and best of all the Optomap Retinal exam does NOT require dilating drops which typically cause blurred vision and sensitivity to light for hours.

Certain ocular conditions or patient medical history may indicate that dilation is necessary when performing the Optomap Retinal Exam.
