The eye health formula contains 14 nutrients including those found in the AREDS formula and is a unique blend of vitamins, herbal extracts, amino acids and antioxidants to help give your eyes the nutrients they need to stay healthy.

AREDS, a study that followed the macular health of 3,600 individuals at 11 centers around the country over a period of five years, found that many individuals had superior macular health from taking certain antioxidants and supplementations, which have become known as the “AREDS Formulation.”

The AREDS formulation consists of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta-Carotene or Vitamin A, Zinc and Copper. The Eye Science Macular Health Formula goes well beyond the dosages of the nutrients within the AREDS formulation. We have included 14 nutrients including Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Bilberry and Omega-3. Our formulation includes 40mg zinc versus the 80mg in the AREDS 2 formulation because, when AREDS 2 compared the 80 mg dosage to the 25mg dosage of zinc, the study found there is no difference or benefit to the increased dose.
